Why Detroit Ghosts Is No Longer Operating the Ghost Hunts
Thursday, October 9, 2008
I will begin by stating that I am thankful to the Coalition for the opportunity initially given me, but dealing with the
Coalition leadership had become quite an intolerable experience.
For those of you patiently waiting for the upcoming ghost hunt dates to be announced on the website, let me just say that
I have been at the mercy of the Coalition, which, in my opinion, is so bogged down with inefficiencies and poor
leadership, that it takes an interminable length of time to accomplish anything. If it were solely up to me, the ghost
hunts would have been in full swing by now.
Although I view the fort as a cherished piece of Detroit's history and I would have loved to have had continued involvement,
I can say with all honesty that I am relieved that I no longer have to deal with the Coalition itself. It is a weight off of
my shoulders.
Update: November 23, 2008
The elections for the Coalition board were recently held. Same old leadership, same old issues, I'm sorry to say. Hopefully,
they can "get their act together" for the sake of of the fort.
By the way, I have moved to Thomas Jefferson country in Virginia, and, as I write this, I can look out my window upon the
Shenandoah Valley and the Allegheny Mountains beyond that. If I should start up a ghost hunt or ghost tour in this region,
I will post it on the website.
